We love getting creative at Jenny’s Cakes.
One of the best ways is through our celebration cakes. We had great fun creating a ‘wonky’ Alice in Wonderland themed cake for a fabulous 40th birthday. The colours really lightened up our day, and we were delighted at the birthday girl’s response. A perfect cake for a Mad-Hatter’s Party! We’ve had lots of other fun novelty cakes too – from farmer’s to a classic black and white 40th, to Minnie Mouse helping to celebrate a 3rd birthday. We love making unique birthday cakes.
You think of the reason – we’ll make the cake! Congratulations to the lady on her 80th birthday , we were pleased to make a classic cake with sugar-craft flowers to mark the occasion, a real milestone. What about the couple who made it to their 70th wedding anniversary! And finally, Cute Christening Cakes – the elephant or the classic teddy bear theme.
We create your unique cake designs. Your cake. Your way.
Do you find Gluten Free cakes, dry , bland and boring?
If your answer is “Yes” please keep reading. With so many people being diagnosed with food allergies, I think they tend to be left behind when it comes to the sweeter elements in their diets. We had used several recipes using Glutafin and Juvela flour but to be honest none of them were very inspiring. Then I watched a programme called Willie’s Wonkey Chocolate Factory way back in 2008!!! He made a chocolate cake using ground almonds instead of flour this got me thinking. Could we use it to bake cakes for people suffering from Coeliac Disease?
We did and it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!
I give all the credit to Willie Harcourt-Cooze, Try it for yourself.
It’s OUT OF THIS WORLD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our latest creation showcases a really entertaining
cake for a lovely couple who tied the knot last week.
The cake was in four tiers, each individually designed
by the couple to capture a part of their personalities.
The bottom tier was the groom’s choice; a football scene
between him (playing for Manchester United) and his Best Man
(playing for Liverpool). This time Liverpool conceded the goal
– a great way to spark a friendly rivalry between friends
supporting different sides!
The third tier was the bride’s choice; enjoying a drink with
a friend after a mountainous shopping trip.
The second and top tiers show the bride and groom together
– on a beach in Donegal where the groom proposed (complete with
their dog), and then finally, on their wedding day.
This cake is perfect for couples who want to add something
light-hearted and amusing to their day. When the groom
returned the stand to The Workshop, he said their day was
truly fun, with the cake being real talking point among guests.
Our first Celebrity wedding cake.
Last week we had the privilege of providing the cake for Sunderland footballer George McCartney and his bride Elaine Mooney. Unfortunatley being more up to date with rugby than football, I didn’t realise who George was!! and wedding co-ordinator David McConkey had to educate me.
The Hilton Templepatrick was transformed by Sarah B and her team into a magical setting. The cake was elegantly decorated with sugarcraft flowers and the day was completed with a hot sunny weather!!
Look out for the next issue of the Wedding Journal for coverage of this wedding.
